Foot fell off?

I've read that clams sometimes shrewd their feet. Is this true? My new maxima looks like this.

It still opens fine

Yes perfectly normal. Place it on the sand and let it be, every time it get's moved or harassed it gets even more stressed out and this could lead to death.
