I don’t want to start the « probe, no probe » debate, it’s been done over and over again.

All my outlets are GFCI and I currently use a grounding probe in my DT (don’t have a sump). I’m upgrading to a new tank with sump and will be putting my ground probe in the sump.

Here is my question : do I need another one for the display tank or will the one in the sump take care of the DT as well ?

Thanks

If your return pump is running the water should provide a conductivity bridge from the sump to the DT. When the return pump isn't running the DT may not be connected to the sump?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
