Well thank you for letting me know forums do have a more LIVE side to them........ but, Still a live chat room option wouldn't be frowned upon I believe,. :D

It's impossible to regulate chatrooms sufficiently, even with bots, unless you have very active mods. I ran a chatroom and we regularly got unwanted racism, homophobia, p**n, and other terrible things.

Well as much technology that we have, you would think a conversation could be controlled. They already do it else where. And AIM ( AOL instant messenger) Was long ago. Where's the fix? I get the off topic convos but still..... we don't communicate as people like we used to.

Chatrooms can go hours with 0 response. You would also be answering the same questions we have stickies to. Trust me I use a run a very popular IRC chatroom back in the early 2000's for an mmorpg(we had easily over 2k people in that chatroom daily).

Chatrooms are great for an almost immediate response, where forums can be searched for information, and that information will never disappear.

Chatrooms also tend to gather the people we really don't want around here. Facebook groups has taken over for those kind of people.

To people mentioning discord, no different then the forums, except the information passed on discord will also expire after a while. The forum information will always be here to reference.
