Forums are cool and all.....

I don't do social media. This forum is as far as I go besides email...... So just curious why isn't there some chat rooms about topics?... so answers can be done quickly and more frequent.....?
( I used to Love AOL back in the day.) But maybe that's just not the way it is anymore??? Can forums like this run chatrooms?

LOL my point was that there's no live conversations going on as in a chatroom. but I googled my own question and I guess it makes since. No Way to moderate.,

Generally you get pretty fast replies here. Differs depending on time and topic. But I’m pretty sure if I sent a “is this aiptasia?” thread, I’d get a reply in a minute or two.

Forum threads can be quickly referenced via Google. They also provide time for other posters to contribute info.

Correct, but still isn't quite real time conversations. I understand Threads are good for people that ask something or post something and come back too. But I think it would be real beneficial to run a chat for real time advise and convo.

Benefits to both I guess but I see way more benefit in the long term of being able to go back and reference stuff via forums...

There's also emergency threads that tend to get answers pretty quickly, I've seen within a minute or two

I’m in some local WhatsApp chats. Around 50-100 people there. It’s overwhelming and hard to keep up with sometimes but it’s cool chat with local people. They keep me in the know about new stuff for sale. We answer questions and help others. Make trades and sales. If you can find or start something like this in your area, it would be quite useful.

Reef2reef should start an official discord for sure. The discord from the subreddit r/reeftank is full of kids... like average age is prob under 16 lol

Question is.... In another post I asked about the (Brown Stage) I went through that and got ich so all fish ended up dying after a good battle. So i kept my rock ( Brute containers etc...) and am waiting 88 days then setting up new. Will I be going through a diatom stage again after already going through that? ( New tank will be bare bottom,)
