So I just opened a new bucket of the Aquavitro salt. I have used at least 20 of these buckets so far.

However, the moment I opened this new bucket, I was taken aback by the foul smell (almost like something decaying) coming from the bucket. I decided to mix it in a little RO. I mixed it with 10G RO water. The water also smelled bad initially. However, after 20 minutes the mixed water smells fine.

Any idea what is going on with this bucket? My guess is that somehow moisture got into this bucket.

Should I discard this salt bucket completely?

I'd take it back for a new one as I'd rather be safe than sorry myself.

+1, something isn't right if you never had that smell before, then i wouldn't use it. swap it for another one, might even open it at the store to make sure its not smelly salt too. good luck
