Foxface and Goldrim

Hi all,

I have a Foxface that stays mostly chalky-yellow rather than brilliant yellow. At times yes he is the correct coloration but rarely. Mostly he's a faded chalky-yellow.

I have tangs that harass him but other than that, he eats fine and is growing okay. I've had him a about a year. Thinking about trading him in for a Flagfin, I have a "no ugly fish" fish policy and he's just not as brilliant as hoped (the Goldrim also might go).

As a side note - I think Godrims are one of the ugliest fish and one of the most beautiful - by far. It's just rare the he flashes his colors - a coco-powder brown/purple with jet black fins and yellow highlighted in neon light blue - amazing colors (we're not dating currently). But most of the time he's that faded , meh, fleshy-tan and faded black fins. I've been hanging on to him hoping that as he gets larger and the body thicker the colors would improve but it's really not so. He's about 5" now.

My Foxface was more often than not looking like a washed-out, bruised banana. All the other fish looked great. I never did figure out what was 'spooking' it-- but I agree with you, and it was not why I got it.

My foxface is rarely the bright yellow that they can be sometimes. As long as mine is fat and sassy I'm ok with him.

mine is yellow about half the time he is awake, faded the most of the rest of the time, then camo at night

mine is almost always bright yellow, however very skittish.At about 6" had him for almost 2 years and has grown like a weed.
