Hello all I am almost to the point where I want to start adding corals to my main tank. My long-term goal with this tank is to manage a mixed reef and hopefully have a mated pair of clowns and would like to rear them for trade or whatnot.
For the corals I would like to frag and have a tank established for reducing the mother colonies in the main tank. For Ease of use and to not have to worry about reestablishing a new system like a QT tank when it is time to rear fry my general thought is to combine the systems and utilize one sump.
So... My questions,
1. Would utilizing an overflow system in a fry tank be too much? If so what filtration is utilized with fry tanks?
2. Depending on the overflow used should the return come back by the overflow, or at the opposite side of the tank for better flow?
3. Is this overkill and me overthinking it?
