Hey guys I’m just trying to get some ideas here. The only thing I know for RODI is that I need a water line and I’d like a six stage system. Thing is I live at my mom’s still and I don’t think she would want something like that in the laundry room. Do any of you run a system where you take it off the water line when you’re not using it? Or do you know if it would be a hassle to connect and disconnect it. Right now in total I’ve got 6-7 gallons of aquariums. I’d like to go up to 10-15 gallons eventually but not until I have my own water system.

Also the pic is my first soft coral tank it’s a 40 oz pnw. Still getting used to scaping and stuff so lmk if something looks off or if I should change placements. (Undecided on if I should keep the zoa on the right it’s new and ugly) I also hate where I put my gsp. Thank you

Six stage is unnecessary IMO. It doesn't hurt anything but a single di stage is all that is required to get 0 TDS. I wouldn't even think about more than a 4 stage for a portable unit unless you have chloramines then 5 would work. I would keep it simple until you can have a permanent system with a mixing station. I would just mount a piece of plywood to a dolly or cart and attach the mounting bracket to that and have a hose attachment that are available to connect it to a faucet with a hose. It's easy to add more stages later so it's not like a 4 stage would be a waste of money.
If it were me I would trying to find a few pictures of neat systems mounted on a wall and see what she thinks. It would probably be less of a hassle having it on the wall vs having to walk around a portable one.
Does your mom drink tap water? If she doesn't like the tap water you could put a tee and shut off before the di resin and make filtered RO water for her to drink 😉 I went one step further and put a faucet at the kitchen sink so my Gal has drinking water since she doesn't like tap. I even told a white lie and have her believing I put the system in for her 🙃
