From that picture it looks like the coral. Lol, sorry man. Not trying to cause confusion. From the other pic it does look like a vermetid

This pic was weeks ago, the begins of the vermetid, almost looked like a feather duster. Wasn't trying to cause confusion either lol

funny story. i bought an established reef from a friend locally and he had crazy loads of large vermetids that i spent hours gluing over to get ready for sps and then i go to another local reefer that was giving out some frags and he gave me this acro that had three vermetids and a barnacle all encrusted over. i wouldve left it just to enjoy the cohabiting diversity if the coral were to continue its growth rate from the other reefer but since i knew it would significantly slow i glued over immediately.
