I am tempted to frag a piece from this but after I lost an entire Red Watermelon several months ago after fragging it I am nervous. This piece is the diameter of a golf ball. The bottom piece with an eye is hanging down nicely from the original LR piece it is on and has not attached yet to the rock below. What would be the safest way to cut this? Thanks.

If you do frag it and looking for a trade Im sure I have another chalice your looking for and not real far from you. Just PM if interested.

Use a diamond blade on a dremel. Since you have to cut from the top, just go slow, and splash tank water on it every so often. It should take less then 5 min to do it.
Make as clean a cut as you can, then blow it off with a powerhead, and keep it in good flow.

I dont use the dremel anymore on the chalices. I lost a couple, probably from heat or something. But either a straight blade or bone cutters work the best for me. If that was my chalice I would use a straight blade and cut that bottom eye off. If you go straight down between the eyes alot of time they will pop right off the plug. You'll lose less flesh this way too.
