Frag racks...how to keep them clean?

My frag racks look nasty. Weird algae growing on them. Weird slimes too. My DT looks great and the small frag racks in my DT are spotless. My frag racks in my frag tank are straight up nasty. Any advice? I rip out this weird fuzzy red crap every week. Every week it comes back.

I would also replace the racks to speed up the process.

Bleach bath.

Get two racks and use one.
Pull the wet one after a week and replace with the dry rack.
Repeat.
If the rack gets dirty too fast, use the Saltyfilmfolks method above.

BTW, those plastic grates promote encrusting growth and act like biopellets to fuel bacteria growth, especially when they are new, imo.

I have read a ton about this. There is the chemical route and there is the "lots of turbo snails route". I am going the lots of turbo snails route. Like as in 20 turbo snails per low boy. So far already 30% is gone in the tank. I know I need to be patient but at least its clearing up!

Fish also help with some algae, not sure they eat that though [emoji23].

But grazers like tangs or in my case a dwarf angle can help keep these at least a little cleaner. (But 50/50 if they will nip, i avoid lps to limit this possibility)

Vinegar followed by a good rinse in freshwater will help too, since will remove corraline and calcium build up as well.

snails and plenty of tangs in a frag tank are a must. I also try to add 1 wrasse for any pests.
