Fragging plate coral?

So I know there have been some posts in the past about this but I'm curious if anybody has had success in reproducing plate coral by fragging or flipping the coral over? Could you share some tips or stories on what you've learned about this please, thanks
 
When you say "plate" coral are you talking about fungia?
