New tank is 6 weeks old. CUC for three weeks now. All tests were reading very well. Got some small frags at local saltwater store. They all died off in days and now my nitrate is around 10ppm. Any ideas?

How and what do you do for acclimating your corals?

A vampire zoa is the only name I remember.

Other was grayish with frills

And a harder one that had blue frills come out of it.

What's your salinity at? How are you measuring salinity? Is the tank new or purchased used? What's your temp at? What's the alkalinity?

How often are you testing? Can you confirm stability or in check readings for ALK, CA, MG or Salinity? Is there something on that zoa polyp or am i seeing things? Did you dip the frags?

Did not dip the frags. Let them acclimate to the water before adding. Read that I should add tank water to them before adding them to to the tank. Would that be enough to shock them?

Checking salinity almost everyday. Do not have a mag test.

Dipping is to kill pest and relieve stress if freshly cut. Always acclimate it'll help with any corals being transferred. I do around 30 minutes at a slow to medium drip rate. Then start at the bottom with the frags and work up slowly. No 2 tanks have exactly the same parameters lights par or flow so acclimating would help it adjust from one tank to the other. Even if your levels are off a bit.

6 weeks is pretty soon to be adding corals. You may want to wait a couple of months before adding anymore. Give you tank enough time to stabilize.;)
What do you men by stabilize? Once the ammonia cycle is done should be fine. Well and once parameter is in order then it's go to go. There is always going to be swing with ph and etc. and def when coral is added. I've never had a problem.

Started with live rock and live sand. Left it like that for 4 weeks. Once the levels all hit 0, then I added the CUC to take care of the diatoms.

He means all/cal/mag stabilization. For lps and sps it's of the utmost importance. I've added soft corals before that point and it's so so with losses.
