Hello, I just finished feeding my DT and noticed the below extending from a hole in a rock. I quickly snapped some pictures...sorry they are from my phone so not the greatest. I then looked around more and found 2 additional spots with these worm like things. I'm freaking out because I don't really want any worms in my tank if I can help it and if they are going to hurt my corals or fish I'll get them out as soon as possible. I have done checks by getting up at different times to look with a flashlight and have never seen them before. The one rock I saw them out of has some green polyps on it which was added about 2 months ago and I did not dip it before adding. Does anyone know for sure what they are and should I be worried?

+1 Serpent stars....looks like mini's. Should be fine.

It would be even better, actually, if they were bristleworms. Worms get a bad rap, but it's totally undeserved nowadays.

Kinda hard to tell. If it has a tube it's staying in and kinda puts out a little mucus web I'd say vermetid snail.

Thank-you for the replies. I did some looking based on your comments and I think they are serpent stars. I feel a lot better. For me I didn't want worms because I have seen pictures and read how big some get and I just really do not want to have something that can get that big in my tank. I know I'm weird. The idea of serpent stars is cool. It's just weird that I haven't seen them before. I'll definately be looking for them know. Again thank-you for your quick replies.
