A friend of mine is breaking down his tank and is offering me his fish. I have a 125 gal with softies. He is giving me a yellow tang and a file fish. My current stocklist is;

1- blue tang

1 yellow tang

5 blue / green chromis

1 Malanarrus wrasse

1 McCosker's wrasse

1 lawnmower blenny

2 Ocellaris clowns

Can you I put another yellow tang and the filefish without having any problems?

I also have a couple of fireshrimp and emerald crabs along with snails and hermits .

If the yellow tangs are significantly different sizes they might be ok. I'd keep the lights off for the rest of the day when you put the tang in if you try it to help keep everyone mellow. Still the larger one might kill the smaller. If they are close in size I definitely wouldn't risk it. The File fish should be good. Good luck.

If you really want the other yellow tang, maybe try taking out your yellow tang for a week or so before you get the new one. Then add them back in at the same time. The only problem is catching 'em.
