Hi,
I’m new to saltwater and am planning a 49 breeder mantis tank. In freshwater tanks, puffer keepers will often times breed their own snails to feed their puffers, and I’m wondering if there’s a way to do the same with saltwater for my mantis? Also, I know that the nerite snails often sold for freshwater need salinity to breed, but I’m not sure if it’s brackish or full salt. And if they can go full salt, that would be a much cheaper option as my LFS sells them 3/10, especially if I can get them to breed.
So my question is, can the freshwater nerites (zebra, tiger etc.) be acclimated to and survive in freshwater and can they breed. And if not, is there another species of snail that I can breed that would be big enough for a peacock mantis?
