Ahh yes! Electricity and saltwater...a very dangerous team! We have one of the most potentially dangerous hobbies around. Reefs can cause floods, house fires, and bad hair days!!! How do you prevent your tank from becoming a giant taser?

Power strips and controller plugfged into GFCI, grounding probe in the sump. Careful about water levels in the sump. If all this fails, I have a family member who is a fire and water restoration contractor.

Nice backup plan!! Ground probes would be a good one to add to the list as well.

Drip loops are one thing I don't see as much as I would like (aka always!!!!) when going to new clients' homes. That is one of the firs things I fix before getting wet.

Yep, forgot that one. Drip loops!! Always try to mount power strips above any water levels. Don't lay them on the floor of the sump or behind the cabinet. Too easy to splash or spill water and short everything out.

I am en electrician so I am used to shocks, they keep me alert. :mod:

I put all my plug strips in a cabinet out side my tank and stand.. Not full proof but every little bit helps.
