Sooo... facts just the facts

Reefer 350, Giessmann Spectra, Lifereef sump, fuge and skimmer. TBS "the package" 2 dozen or so frags mostly SPS and half a dozen fish

Full Apex - Dos, DDR, Flow monitoring, etc..

In what may have been a moment of insanity I purchased a similar GHL Profilux set up. Now after evaluating all that I will need to do physically to swap out controls and reviewing the programming and other documentation I am having second thoughts.

Has anyone gone thru this process and have any thoughts, warnings, encouragement?

I think the old saying, "if it aint broke don't fix it" applies here haha. If the apex is working, and working well for you why switch?

With that being said, the GHL and apex are really the only 2 controllers I would even consider running on any of my tanks. So if you do switch i believe after all the reprogramming is done you won't even notice a difference besides user interface being different.

I think you should stick with Neptune and sell me your GHL stuff for a great price! ;)

I've got to get a controller on my Elos and am about to take the plunge. I would personally only consider those two options and I will be getting the Profilux 4.

Why did you get the GHL controller? Was there something you were missing with the Apex that you wanted to do with the Profilux?

They're both good systems with many happy customers. From reports the GHL seems to be somewhat better built and slightly more reliable, but I don't think you could justify the cost of switching if you had a fully functional Apex setup.

Of course, if you're looking to sell your apex setup, you could always PM me! :)

Not a big deal. I use both GHL for my main system and all other water handling. I have an Apex for when I have my QT system up and running.
Love the programming in the GHL drop down box for advance settings with no "fall back" code to write.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
