Actually tested my parameters
Alk 8.7
Phosphate .24
Nitrate 20-30 ppm (neo nitro worked!!)
Ph 8.2

things I’m trying , greatly increased flow in DT / increased return pump speed by 50% just seeing if corals seem happier or if I’m creating a hurricane in the tank lol

Until Friday , then payday

I’m curious to see if your phosphates are going down now that you’ve added nitrates.

I was curious about this post. Why did you stop using it?

I got this in my fridge, all it does atm is raise my phosphates.
I stopped because its not necessary and had to move / reset up tank among other things and budget , I actually just bought another bottle and gonna start dosing again soon. I noticed corals appeared a lot brighter and even gonis/GSP/Xenia would close after dosing so it definitely fed them.

hmm, I've been dosing again. My injured octo seems to be doing a bit better. But my nutrients are very low to begin with.

That’s good to hear. I do think corals really enjoy it and helps bring out more color , I’ll try and see if I can notice a difference this time around

Why do you think that is? I don't use ab+ but I do use fuel.
Not sure, but every single time I've tried it by the 2nd dose I had a patch. Same with a number of other brands. Pretty much any aminos

That is interesting ,I’ve strangely never had cyano before I’m not sure why
yeah idk. I've tried ab+ 3 or 4 times over the years, as well as the kz aminos and the aquaforest ones. All with the same thing. I stop using it and it goes away. I don't bother trying anymore.

Your corals / tank is doing great without it , maybe the ab + / aminos is already in abundance and dosing it just fuels undesirables saves some money lol

Intriguing. I thought they were all basically the same. Our tanks are definitely not the same so amino similarity probably wouldn't be a good metric anyway.

That's kinda where I landed with it. Assuming they're just not essential for my tank. Maybe something in the feeder takes care of it. I do mix a little barrier reef labs lps micro pearl food into the avast feeder with the fish food.

I DO notice a decline in my tank if I stop using the vitamin-carb x though. This is something I started up after a few failed attempts with aminos.

Is the Carb-X just a carbon source?

vitamin/carbohydrate complex - not sure what witchcraft is in it, but if I stop adding it to the water for the corals they start to "wither" in comparison to what I'm used to seeing. The fish also love it, they try to catch the drops and eat them - if i soak food in it and feed it to the fish they brighten up.
