It was a tempting offer, but I would never get a mandarin again.
Some how they manage to decimate the pod population so fast that they start slowly dying of hunger.
I do not have a pod farm and neither to the LFS carry them here around.
Only in huge established tanks with a lot of rock, I see this possible.

I hope they went to a good home.

I agree, especially when they are competing with the wrasse for the food supply. I will add a mandarin a some point but I'm going to give it some more time and add more pods to my tank. The tank is just now about to hit it's first birthday so I don't mind waiting a little while and letting it mature some more before I do.

Haha thanks. I am proud of that trachy, a friend of mind had to tear down his tank and gave me one heck of a deal.

Thanks for following along, I’ll try to get some updates going.

Haha, here you go. FTS and a trachy shot even though it’s a little blue. Still fighting some algae but I have the upper hand on it. Loosing SPS and I’m still trying to track down why. Going to do some more testing later.

Alright folks I need some help. I’m loosing SPS, not all of them but a few and some that have previously been good. Everybody else is happy, but not some of the SPS. About a month ago I let my two part run dry, worst habit I have. I started dozing again but haven’t really gotten some of it back to where I need it. So here are the numbers, are the low alk and low cal really to blame or is there something else?

Alk 7
Cal 420
Mag 1440
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79
No3 2
Po4 .02

Got something done today I’ve needed to do for a long time. I had the RO line just running through our old cat door into the garage. We called it the blue tube of death because every now and then you would catch you foot and nearly fall. Problem fixed.

A few new additions to the tank via aquashella. I spent most of the money at Hanna’s booth, and on plants. Also the daughter got a new beta and a new frog, and the wife got a new beta as well.

Nice.
Can we see the betas and plants as well?
Yeah I’ll get some pictures tomorrow of the betas and I also ended up picking up two blastos, two ricodias, and another rock flower, and some zoa the second day. Right now all the lights are low and letting things settle in. I’ll get some pics tomorrow. Plus another shot the frog my daughter got.
