I am currently in the planning stages of building a 40b triton sump. I am needing some input on ways to keep Chaeto from getting into the skimmer section. As always, thanks in advance for the input.

extra-coarse filter sponge (I am using aquaclear coarse insert cut to fit, but would find something even more coarse).
also, those knitting grids from Michaels/craft stores. made of plastic, cost less than a dollar (Darice plastic canvas, https://www.michaels.com/darice-no7-plastic-canvas-clear/10812479.html)

That’s an awesome idea. (Knitting grid) have you personally used this material for keeping Chaeto from “escaping” a section of your sump @NotASpammerDude ? If so, how often you have to clear the Chaeto off it?
