hey guys. over the past 2 days i've lost my small frag of tyree icefire , 1/5 of my lime in the sky, my small mini colony of blue hoeki, 1/3 of my miyagi tort and 1/4 of my blue hawkins. they all started receding from the base which was fully encrusted. it was a fast 1 day death for the blue hoeki tho. everything else in the tank is good except i noticed my dendros weren't opening up for some reason. params look good so ??? did a 40 gallon water change last night and my dendros are opening up again. tests were done before water change. no new hardware added or chemicals. sorry no pics since i already fragged whatever was receeding. just trying to find out what else could've caused this.

SPS receding from the base is usually an indicator of ALK swings. Is your ALK stable? Hopefully the fragging will work out for you.

Agreed Ralph 99 percent of the time its a alk spike or swing.... Sucks man hope it works out for you....

thanks guys. that might have been it. i did miss a couple days dosing but that never caused any kind of receeding before. looks like the big water change did good too. my polyps are more extended today. sucks tho since they were just basing and building a "root" to build a colony. now i gotta wait months .....

thanks ralph and troy. yeah i'm glad i got to re-frag everything. bummed i lost my hoeki and my tyree icefire tho. oh well that's what happens sometimes.
