ive noticed one of my fungias have weird white strands coming out of the coral, its not the tentacles as I see the colorful tentacles as well. Seems like its some sort of mucus being released, does anyone know why this happens? is it because its stressed or dying or hungry?

I think the weird white strands is the skin unraveling into really long skinny sweeper tentacle I guess. Seen the skin of Frog Spawn and most of my Euphyllias do that when the polyps are pressed up against the glass for long periods. I also noticed that my acros did that as well when they were up against the glass too. I have also seen corals do that when they are about to fight another coral or invading algae.
Not sure. Is it coming from the mouth or skin? Do you have photos?

I think you are right, it was getting too close to other pieces so now I gave it some space and this morning it looked better. Well at least I didn't see the white strings no more.

It is likely the "slime coat" releasing due to stress. Could be caused by another coral, pest or water quality. If it was near another coral and you moved it it should recover. What kind of coral was it next to?

I had it near 4 chalices and some zoas. I'm thinking it could be the chalices being aggressive with it.
