Ok. So I just purchased what I think i was told is a fungia coral.. How do I care for it? I thought it was another ricordia, until I got home.. I also purchased some Zoas, green torch and another unknown something.. Help would be greatly appreciated. Am just geting toes wet with corals and dont want to "hurt" anything in my tank by being "wrong" :)

Depends on what lighting you have, I keep all my fungias and plates on the sandbed and they do fine. Prefer low-moderate flow and moderate lighting. You can spot feed them, mine loves fauna marin lps pellets.

And oh yeah theyre LPS not soft corals.

Post a picture and we can tell you what it is. Plate corals like to be on the sand bed, you can feed them mysis once a week and they should be fine.

certainly looks like one. Don't try to feed it yet, let it get used to your tank. It should puff itself up if its happy. When you see the tenticals then you can try to spot feed it.

That looks like a long tentical plate, very cool. You can try to feed it, it may eat. Mine is a short tentical plate, when it expands, mine doubles in size.

I also got one exactly like that from Jason Fox at the swap too...

Jetstarheart - your plate looks like its doing good and yes that is puffing up.

Hmm I guess I missed that one. I did also buy the Orange and Purple one from IJam. Got a good lat minute deal on it when he was packing up!
