My late 1990's stock 10g planted aquarium with original flourite, finely aged in the garage since 2001. My wife thinks I should just bring it out to the curb for the garbageman. Let's turn this piece of junk into a beautiful nano, if it still holds water...

I'm going to bold supplies and livestock added to make it easy to scan the thread.

  • Old 10g tank from garage
  • Old 10g stand from garage
  • 2x18w T5HO from a refugium project that never got set up
  • Old Maxijet 600 from the garage (it is behind the biggest rock)
  • 2 half cans of old black spray paint from the garage
  • 9 gallons (exactly) RODI + Instant Ocean Salt
  • Mix of established live rock (from my main tank's sump) and dry rock
  • Approximately one dozen columbellid snails from my main tank
