Hello everyone, my name is BettaChic and I'm new to pet fish. I found out about aquarium clubs after listening to KGTropicals on youtube. I thought connecting to a group in my state would be a good idea, and apparently the forums lead here. I'm a 21 year old college student studying Studio Art - I'll start buying supplies for my aquarium when I move into my dorm in about a week.

I'll be setting up a 5 gallon tank, with a Betta fish and Nerite snail. I'll be adding some plants like Anubias and Java ferns. I'm not really sure what else to say, but I can't wait to look through all the threads on here. So, hope to get to know ya!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Although this is primarily a saltwater forum, many of us also keep freshwater fish. Personally, I have kept and bred Bettas in the past. Good luck with the new tank and your new academic adventure!

Welcome to R2R!

Good luck with your 5G aquarium!

When your tank becomes fairly established you can start adding things like cherry shrimp, a single large bamboo shrimp is always in my betta tank. Floating plants like water lettuce and duckweed gives it a nice pond look also, but a bit more advanced good luck!
