Gap Filler

I have a waterbox 50.3 and a lid that runs along the outer rim. Problem is my new diamond goby keeps squeezing over the gap between the lid and the "sump" area. Anyone have any reef safe ideas how to make that wall a tiny taller or fill the gap without having to adjust it every time i move the lid.

You can get plastic mesh of different types for crafts and cross stitch and stuff at a craft store, like Hobby Lobby or Michael's or Amazon. Maybe you could cut a piece to size and attach it with silicone?
