Gate valve adjustment

I’m basically having to tune my gate valve on my reef daily at this point. Water level in my overflow rises and it starts to faintly gurgle just about every day.

It’s a main drain and emergency. Is it safe to assume my main drain is clogged to some extent? I bought a flexible snake Thats about 67 inches long, I feel like it was smarter than trying to snake it with my house auger.

Any other suggestions?

Tank is almost 2 years old, we moved 7 months ago and it’s been greatly neglected, I thought I would give it a fighting chance and recover the system before tearing down

Your pump could also be an issue. When they get old they can sometimes vari the flow. Or maybe it’s stuff (algae)getting clogged in your drain .
