Hi everyone!
Yesterday I did a water change to prepare for API general cure, then I dosed 2 packs of general cure to my 20G system.
This morning I noticed that I forgot to remove the carbon bag from the HOB filter!

Should I dose again or wait the 8 days?

Thanks

Carbon takes a while to get working with removal- Not instantaneous. Should be fine

I've removed it this morning, it's not a lot of carbon and I hope it's not so effective since it's been there for a while.

Will wait the 8 days and dose again.

Thanks!

The problem is that you have no idea whether the dose you gave is correct in the water with the carbon - some medications may be removed quite quickly - others more slowly. Part of the question is 'why did you use general cure'. If your fish have a disease - I would do a water change - and dose again. If it was just a prophylactic thing I would leave it until 8 days.

Another suggestion - call the company and ask their tech support people - otherwise IMHO - it's just a guessing game. Many sites claim it takes 24 hours to remove medications completely - thus if you have carbon in for 12 hours, you may very well have removed a significant amount IMHO.
