I find the genus to be among the most likely of all fishes to revert back if not dominant.

Did not know that.... so if I get 5 females good chances one will convert?

Agreed. These fish transition very easily.

I have a single Lamarck's Angelfish that was added as a small female. Over the years, she grew to be the largest fish in the tank and is the dominant fish. Even without having any other swallowtail angelfishes in the tank, the fish has semi-transitioned to a male as the upper black stripe has faded and broken off from the caudal fin. My guess is that the transition became about because he pesters my Scribbled Rabbitfish due to its similar shape and coloration. If I was to add any more female swallowtails, I'm positive the transition would complete to male.

Yes, though if another fish(not one of the Genicanthus) is too dominant over them they may not.

I have a first hand experience with my male watanabei reversing to sub male even with the presence of a female. IMO, the variable that caused that to occur is the fact that he wasn't the dominant fish in the tank. He was still a male tho cuz he made sure to chase the female on a daily basis, but he did lose most of the dominant male stripes on his body. Another hobbyist I knew kept a trio of the Japanese masked and he also had the same problem.
