Hey guys I may need little help over here. This is my first Calcium Reactor ever installed, the problem is i don’t know how to fine tune, my problem is my effluent is having a minor variation 30.1-31.4 dKh

My set up:
GEOS REEF 618 model + 2nd chamber
Keeping Triton CarX 1st chamber
2nd Chamber filled with ReBorn
Added around 20% ReMag
Kamoer STP WiFi
Carbon doser 1 bubble per second at 10psi

My problem is… For the first start I settled the pH to 5.9-6.0 the effluent turns around 56dKh so I changed to 6.0-6.1, alk on effluent after 48hours became 46dKh keeping the same flow 20ml/min, then moved again pH to 6.1-6.1 same flow then drops the alk to 34 dKh pH same flow. Between that changes my alk went from 8.8 to 10 slowly with the changes started to decrease till reach again 8.8 with the same ph (6.1-6.2) same flow (20ml/min) I tought time to set the flow alk on effluent was pretty stable at 30.4 for 72 hours

Using the online calculator to adjust the flow as mentioned changed it to 24.5ml/min… what happens? My alk on effluent increased to 32.4 and I had a drop of .2 alk on the tank. Then again using the calculator with the effluent level suggested to change flow to 19.5 and my alk on effluent again bécame 30.2 and alk still dropping.

What I’m missing here? how I can balance the flow keeping the same pH and effluent on the reactor.
Every change I made have a waiting time of 48-72 hours.

Here is some historical of my parameters

Dec 05 10:00am
Alk effluent 32.4
Alk tank 8.8

Dec 04 10:30am
Alk effluent 31.4
Alk tank 9.0
Ca 450
Mg 1380

Dec 03 10:30am
Alk effluent 31.4
Alk tank 9.0

dec 02 10:30am
Alk effluent 31.2
Alk tank 9.1
Flow change 24.5-19.8ml/min

Increase the air just a little- that fixed it for me

Unless I am reading it wrong :) I have to ask… Why the ReMag in the second chamber? The second chamber is primarily there to take up excess CO2 so you can raise the effluent pH. If you want to melt stuff, you want that in the main reactor body in the recirculation loop, not in the secondary chamber.

You’re right, but Remag is divided in both chambers.
Using reborn and Remag on the second chamber is because triton media dissolves at 6.0-6.2 pH reborn & remag around 6.4-6.7 my output ph is around 6.9

If you want to learn how to tune the thing by hand, there is a paper in my signature. I cannot help of you want to use a pH probe - I don't use or recommend them since they are less efficient in operation and not all that reliable. A good hand tune will allow less unused co2 into your tank.
