Getting back in

Hey I’m John from California and getting back into the hobby. I have a daughter who’s 8 who’s been asking for an aquarium.
I sprung a leak on a 225 in wall mixed reef and I just walked away for a long time.
Last time I was around here, Triton testing was new, they were banning fish sales and certain live rock. Still trying to play catch up on the hobby as I’m sure there’s tons of new products and methods so look forward to doing some research. I’ve had a 60 gallon Lee Mar shallow cube sitting around new/unused for like 15 years so that’ll be the next build.
I’m a welder by trade so I’m going to build the stand this week and order some equipment.
Is no one using Radium’s anymore btw!

Welcome John! I’m completely new to reefing and still just researching and planning for a build I hope to start in 2028. I’m currently building a 29g freshwater betta community tank. I know a lot has changed. I’ve been watching the BRStv video series called “52 weeks of reefing”. It’s 10 years old and some of the manufacturers they liked are gone.
