Hey All! New here, left the hobby in 2011due to life circumstances and have been missing it lately. I did have salt water reef tanks for almost ten years prior to leaving the hobby and fresh water aquariums of various set ups (fish only, planted, brackish, regionally themed, etc.) my entire life.
I started planning a new reef tank and I cannot believe how much has changed in the last decade! LED lights are such an advancement! and controllers! They have come so far! As well as aquaculture. Prices have really increased, wow. I am hoping to get something ordered within the next couple months, emailed Waterbox today, I am looking at the Marine X 60.2 (36 gallon display) or 90.3 (59 gallon display) (likely more realistic for fish/coral space, as well as cabinet space). I am also waiting on my local store as they are in discussions with another supplier locally, so I wouldn't have to get something shipped, I do really like the top off chamber size in the Waterbox sump though, so would really like to find a BC supplier for them.
Last reef I had had a Bobbitt worm that liked to eat everything (despite several full tank teardowns, it was never found while I had the set up), so I am going to take this build SUPER slow and supervise my rock situation for quite a while before anything purchased goes into the tank, no more disappearing fish, thank you.
I will start a tank build thread soon asking probably a thousand questions, although my visit to a local store told me I am somewhat on the correct path. Was also an absolute joy to see a familiar face from ages ago still there.
I was so sad to see there are so few forums alive, and so thankful to find one that still is.
Cheers, Robyn
