Hello everyone!
I finally decided to join the forum after lurking for a few months. I've worked at a pet store for 6+ years and finally caved this year and started some tanks. I have a 3 gallon pico with sexy shrimp and a 45 gallon reef tank that I'm starting to stock. Looking forward to learning more about the hobby!

Welcome! Glad you joined.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID). You might want to do thread for each tank over in other Forum area for Member Aquariums (entirely up to you), but you will only get one badge

This might help you find people local to you in Virginia:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Welcome to R2R! 45g is a good start size. Just please be wise with the size in your fish selection and don't get a fish that will be to large for a 45g. Do your research. Sometimes it's better to to research outside R2R. Like the library or book store with Marine biology books.
