My whole system, excluding my lights, goes through my Apex and is on a single circuit GFCI outlet. I have a whole home battery backup, but the weak link in this setup is the above mentioned outlet. If it trips, I have no way of knowing - especially since my lights won’t go out. Anyone have experience with something like this: https://a.co/d/gi0ploj or something else?

Actually, will my Apex alert me if this outlet trips. I mean, my power in general can’t go out without me knowing, but if the outlet trips, I’m in trouble. Does Apex notify of this somehow? For most folks, a power outage means no wifi, so unless the app can’t connect to the device, I’m not sure how else it could be aware of an outage much less communicate it (without cellular and its own battery backup).

Yes if you set up Fusion heartbeat it notifies you if Fusion loses connection with your Apex

Ok, I’ll look into that. I guess what I really want is to know if anyone else is in this situation - whole system on a GFCI outlet that may trip without warning or notice. Anyone use a device for an alert, and if so, what is the experience been.

The product you linked looks like it would do what you are wanting.

Do you have a way of getting your system on multiple GFCIs?

I could get it on 2, but I don’t want to add a 2nd Apex power bar which manages feed modes, etc. Perhaps separating the wavemakers will provide backup if the return pump trips. Will they have an effect on oxygenation if they are not breaking the water surface?

They will have an effect on oxygenation if they are at least making the water’s surface go from glass-like to rippling!

Not sure they’re even doing that! I could move one of them up a tad, move them to a different outlet & get that GFCI alarm. That would put my mind at ease.

This is a legitimate fear. I heard so many horror stories of GFCI tripping easily and harming home reefs while I worked at the LFS in the 2000’s.
