GHL general help and support

So I am in the market for a controller. I am leaning towards GHL in the hope that long term it will be better and more consistent with less tinkering. ONE big thing I have been running into is the lack of users therfore lack of responses, help, and knowledge. Can people with GHL products chime in and give me their opinion on the level of help when a question was asked?

I have not had any problems getting help when needed. add @Member No 1 to the list of people that help. There are quite of few articles and video for common programming.

i had issues getting my KHD functioning but could not fault their customer care, now it is functioning its a wonderful piece of kit

Holy cow 15min in and a half dozen responses......As usual you guys didn't disappoint! @Billldg doesn't know this but I found a few posts/responses of his and he was one of the people on my short list for questions

I’m no help with GHL since I’m an Apex guy, but I just wanted to chime in to thank all the GHL experts for offering to help.

I subscribe to this Controllers forum so I get notifications any time someone posts a new thread, which is how I often reply so quickly to Apex questions. Collectively, all of us make this community a great place by being generous with our knowledge and helping others. Again, thanks to all of you for making this forum such a great resource!

Well I certainly appreciate it and the response from you all! Even "That Apex guy...." :p After all the responses I pulled the trigger on the P4 mega set! Hopefully it's here by the weekend.

A special solution in my hometown - Gothenburg - is called an abrovinsch. If it does not turn out exactly as you have imagined and a slightly special or special solution is required to make things go together, then you have probably made an abrovinch :D

I have struggled through installing and setting up the profilux and the kh director. Hours and more like days of work.

Its not intuitive but makes more sense as you do it. Some things are still in code type language or just not simplified in description or named somthing odd.

The fact you generally cant name things the way you want and labels for things are cooked in makes setup and changes harder for sure..

But the hardware seems very nice. The app i am getting use to. You need utilize videos and how to's basically every time u do something, at least at first.

This is not Apple or good intuitive software so know that going into it.... i knew that and waa prepared to be patient. It has tested that patience i wont lie.

For email comminication for for example ... OH MY LORD. But it does email and text me (with verizon email to text help) now if any power is cut, an alarm goes off, and to give the status every morning and night.

I submitted a ticket and Vinnie replied within a couple days.

All and all i am happy with going GHL so long as the equipment holds up and is reliable. Neptune i just wouldn't trust even if easier to use.

@mywifeisits that last statement about trust, that is one of my reasons for GHL over Apex....if I am going to spend 1k+ on a controller I hope I can trust it. I have watched alot of the tutorial videos and I think I can figure it out. I have a background in high power electronics with some experience in industrial automation and robotics. Can't be any worse then that lol

Now that I bragged and set the bar, we will see how bad I do lol

I feel you will like the Profilux P4. I am converting from a full Apex system to a full GHL system, so the shock is a good bit more in how things are done to me. I have not found things to be that much harder, its just different. You will find a great many GHL users here, and they will help you in your journey. I will also help you in anyway I can when work slows down...LOL!!!
