Just received my new lights, GHL Mitras LX7. Was wondering does anyone have pictures of them over their tank using the hanging kit?

I had this hanging but didn’t like how the power cord always had a little pull on it. It never really hung straight. I used a giesemann verve mount to mount it on my tank.

I’m getting the hanging kit but wasn’t quite sure how they attach to the ceiling. Just curious.

I have my mitras hanging from ceiling. Like others say its pretty much basic. I think there is a fts on my build thread. Use a plumb bob from ceiling or a laser from light to ceiling to get holes aligned.

I have a board against the ceiling inside of my custom canopy. The board is screwed to joists so that I can mount into solid wood instead of using drywall anchors.

You can use drywall anchors instead, but since this is inside a canopy, I went ahead and added a board.

I’m going to respace these 5 Mitras and add 2 more that I picked up in the FS forum. I’ll have 1 for every foot of the tank [emoji362][emoji362][emoji362][emoji362][emoji362][emoji362][emoji362]

That looks like a nice alternative. Did you have to modify or come up with some kind of adapter to make it work?
