GHL Stirrer RPM

@Lasse - or anybody what is the lowest RPM of the stirrer. I want to stir phyto without damage but want to make sure these will work before purchase.

Hi - I have no figures on rpm but I have done a video showing speed 0,7 and 15 for both type 1 and 2 of stirrers.

You can´t go really slow - 0 is rather fast. I have a solution for that - periodical stirring - in my example (also in the video) I run it for 2 sec and wait 10 sec between the stirring. The particles you see is freshwater cyclops - a little heavier than phytoplankton but it gives a good picture. With help of timers, virtual doser and PL you can combine the periodic stirring with both dosing events and maintenance agitation

The cyclic is done with a type 2 and 2 sec on - 10 sec off

Thanks Lasse - still looks a bit fast for me. I am just trying not to smash the phytoplankton cells.

I suppose I will have to manually modify one.

I did not know there was a type 1 and a type 2...

Yea - I think they only deliver type 2 at the moment.

I do not think you need to modify - IMO phytoplankton cells will be good if you run for 1 sec and paus for 20 sec (maybe more) The inertia of the water will keep the cells floating and moving for quite some time and you only need a little nudge now and then.

What was the difference between 1 and 2?

I do not really know but I think there is at least a difference in the electronics and the way the speed is managed. You need to set the model in the configuration window.

A mark on the back indicates the type. They otherwise look completely identical.
