I would think about getting level sensors. Then you can automate ato, awc or empty the skimmer.

After just getting my KHD set up and running, I have a hack to suggest.
Beg, bribe, or cajole a reef club member to come over and set it up for you!
After messing with it for a couple weeks, and getting more and more frustrated, a club member came over. In about 2 hours, it was up and running. And now I know how to work it. Best value ever for a few frags.

Pretty cool that you haven't set up the tank and are already getting a P4, that's some good planning right there. Pretty new to GHL myself but here's what I would offer based on my experience

Tips
- Name your switches, sensors, doser heads, maintenance and feed modes, and anything else that supports labels
- start numbering your powerbar at #13 in case you decide to use s-ports in the future
- calibrate the doser with the tubing lengths and dosing speed you will use
- set up your dashboards in the app, and the cloud connected version of the app
- back up profilux settings to file before firmware updates
- configure fallback on the powerbar for if/when P4 is offline

Accessories
-Power cut power supply, if you are using battery backup on your tank
-Level sensors, bracket and magnetic base
-Flow sensors & fittings
-Breakout box
-Meadurement cell
-magnetic stirrers
-digital input addin if you want to automate switch input functions beyond what's in maint/feed options in the app or touch.
-webcam(s) if you will be away from the tank

I want one: How to easily disable something like a doser pump (without wiping settings) for a period of time. One thing I do miss about "module" outlets is the OFF setting.

Hello folks

I have a Profilux 4 setup with a static IP and that setting renders the email notifications non working / stop sending

I think it's a firmware bug, so I'd share my knowledge so other don't get stuck in the same issue

Best regards, Brock

Brock, are you running firmware ver. 7.24? I am running a static IP, both email and texts working fine.

If your doing a static IP what are you seeing for your DNS?

I am also using a static IP and multiple devices on 7.24 and they are all sending emails and text notifications.

A good tip/trick is to take and run cables from the L ports to an S-port L-port breakout box and out of that box connect to a surface mount dual rj45 box and wire them to match apex plug order. One side will be L1/L2 the other will be L3/L4. This way you can use cables made for apex instead of hacking them up to wire to Profilux. You can technically do this without the breakout box but that’s only if you are trusting of your wiring skills to do it properly the first time. Miswire could be bad.

anyway you could message me and maybe explain this a bit more in depth ? just set up my p4 last weekend and wondering if this would be the way to go for doing 0-10v.

Using a surface mount RJ45 box and RJ14 cable (has 4 wires) I connected to an L-Port as follows.

L-Port End - RJ45 End

Pin 2 - Pin 5 (L1 1-10V)
Pin 3 - Pin 2 (L2 Ground)
Pin 4 - NOT Connected, cut wire off and used for the ground jumper
Pin 5 - Pin 1 (L2 1-10V)

In the RJ45 jumper Pin 2 to Pin 6 for the L1 Ground. The L-Port has a common ground for both channels while the Apex connector has individual grounds for each channel.

On the L-Port end the pins are numbered 1 thru 6 left to right, tab down.

I made this connection for a Reef Brite Apex Dual Channel LED interface.

I already had the cable and RJ45 keystone laying around so I just needed the RJ45 boxes, which I got off of Amazon for $9 for 5 of them.

Mine is set with static IP and this renders the email function useless

Oops, I just realised I already addressed this, sorry, it's still not fixed with latest firmware.

Besides from this I made myself a DIY conductivity Ensor with an old tube from a worn-out PH probe, just a couple of thin titanium rods and sealed with aquarium silicone.

Support from GHL is always fast and great :)
