So I’m finally starting a build thread here. I have one on my club site so bare with me while I get this one caught up to where I am currently.

My 180 aqueon tank. No matter how many times I told my wife the dimensions of the tank I ordered she still freaked out when we unloaded it. She inquired if it was a tank or a couch. Lol.

Don’t know why wasn’t showing on first post. I’m having connection issues. Must be an auction going on.

I recently did a full repair/remodel of my basement so I don’t want to drill into the ceilings. And being that my walls are my poured foundation I don’t want to drill into the concrete. So my idea was to basically build a header board Like a bed and use tv brackets to hang my lights. This makes them easy to swing out of the way and easy with height adjustments.

This was a test hang. the metal brackets have been cut to length and each light will be on its own hanger.

So the header board has been taken off of the back of the stand to get it painted and the metal brackets are being painted so that puts me at where I’m currently at. On a side note I also happened to win the sizzling summer sale gift certificate giveaway so I believe I’m going to use that to go towards the purchase of a controller.

Light board is painted and reattached.
Wiring is 90% done, waiting on my profilux to be delivered so I can mount that up. Also got my bulkheads installed. I opted to get different bulkheads than what comes with the aquarium because I wanted to be able to change them if the need arises.

Looks great, but you’re not gonna leave your lights that low are you?

Thanks. I know it’s not as gorgeous as some on here.

No way, this is a great build. Definitely gorgeous. And lots of progress this week. I love that new tank smell before fish start pooping in it.

U painting the back. Did I miss, rockscape design started yet?

Don’t want to paint the back of the tank. I am going to put a removable panel behind the back of the tank. I’m not quite sure how the rockscape will be just yet. I’ve been reading all types of threads about different looks though.
