Hi Reefers,

My giant sea anemone has not fully opened for last 4 days and some tentacles started to change their color to brownish.

It's been in my tank for 3 months without issues.
The water parameters have not changed. (0 phosphate and nitrate, alkalinity 10 dKH, salinity 35 ppm, temp. 77, calcium 420)
Any idea what could happening ?

Browning can be an indication of too much light, creating an overabundance of zooxanthella.
Nems can be a bit temperamental at times. I'd just keep an eye on it for now.

Zero nitrate and phosphate is not good either.

Was it white when you got it? If so the brown color may be a good thing as I know a lot of places under light nem tanks and when they are in a tank that is properly lit they begin to develop proper coloration.

@sagee , yes, it was white when I bought it.

@Jekyl, Today, I bought from my LFS some nutrients that includes phosphate. They also said 0 was not good and explained me how to use it.

thanks @T-J, I will keep an eye on it for the next days.

Yeah man white is not typically a healthy color in nems or corals, so in this case i would consider it coloring up and a good thing! By the looks of it you have a Haitian pink tip aka condylactis they come in a wide variety of colors sit back and enjoy the transformation .
