Gigas Grow Out Thread

Lousy picture (because clam is wedged into my frag tank), but it's put on almost one full inch of new shell in about eight months.

Moved mine to the big sump with the other larger clams. Taking this pic it’s time for cleaning!

Got a new canister filter just for sump cleaning. Worked great!

Yes. I lost that blue Squamosa.

Well my little guy held on for over a year but now he is done. Worms and snails are starting to eat him. He is still alive as he closed when i went to pull him out. Just a sad day.

Dang. Sorry to hear it! Is that an aptasia on shell?

Yes but only recently. The gigas right next to it is over 7 inches. This guy had an issue from day one.

Yes but only recently. The gigas right next to it is over 7 inches. This guy had an issue from day one.

Similar experience ..... bought two at the same time, one has thrived the other never grew and died after about a month. Remaining one has put on close to 1 1/2” inches of new shell. Of course, it was the less colorful of the two ....
