I noticed my Chocolate Tangs gills were acting up, but he was doing fine a week ago, it’s day 5 and I’m worried rn so I’m going to pick up some prazipro at my lfs tomorrow. My rockscape did collapse and I had to redo it causing a lot of debris to stir up. And he eats everything like pellets and frozen food. PLSSS HELP

Symptoms suggest Flukes best treated with PraziPro. When dosing Prazi, dose at 85% of recommended dosage and allow it to work for 8 days, change water and apply one more application lasting 8 days and do add an air stone as Prazi lowers both oxygen and appetite

How are its gills “acting up”? I can see some slight rapid breathing, is that what you mean?

I agree that Prazipro with good aeration is the first thing to try here…..

Hey, sorry if this is late. I lost my account. Update: He’s breathing more harder and mostly breathing on his left gill and my chocolate tang is hiding more often and isn’t eating as aggressive as he used too. His belly is also getting a little pinched and I asked this one guy and he said it possibly internal physical injury on his gill because the only I could remember is when my aquascape collapsed and while I was rescapung my rock work I’m guessing he inhaled some debris and detritus. After I finished the rockscape, all of a sudden he acted really weird.

Have you tried increasing the aeration and dosing prazipro?
