I have two gladiators, had both of them for a year and a half. In the past couple months one of my clowns has been hosting a toadstool. He or she spends about 95% of the day in this and it concerning me. Today when I got up it was in there with almost all his color gone. 5 minutes later his color was back when I coaxed him. Is the coral stinging him. In the first picture he's hard to see but he's under the other clown

If he doesn't like it, he will move out. Loss of color can be a sign of stress. I'd just let him be and watch him closely for other signs of distress. He seems to be enjoying his new home.

Also, just an fyi cuz these kinds of things interest me... it's actually the toad stool that is hosting the Clown, not the other way around. Clowns aren't actually the host.

Mine do the same with my toad stool and also my purple star polyps. Neither fish or coral are being harmed. The toad stool will usually close for a few days when shedding.

Some clownfish lose color at night no matter what the host is. As long as the color comes back during the day, it shouldn't be anything to worry about.

No worries, fish look very happy if not a little cramped! Mine were happy to move out from the tiny toadstool frag after I introduced a large hammer garden and Duncan coral. Clownfish will typically host anything with a good amount of polyps they can snuggle into

That is one beautiful Euphyllia garden! Is that an Ultra Yellow Octospawn?
