Now I need to plumb the uv… it wants 2100 gph should I do it off the closed loop ? Or off the return or a separate pump in skimmer chamber pumping to return chamber. Only concern is if the uv flows more than the tank it will overfill the return chamber and then cause water level fluctuations. And if the returns don’t flow 2100 gph then what ? Am I overthinking ? I just don’t want too much reaction time so I don’t nuke everything in the water column
2100 gph is a lot of flow for a return. I seriously doubt your drain system could handle that much flow. If you want to do it in the sump I would do supply and return to the same section or return to a higher level section. Definitely do not do skimmer to return. I personally like doing UV on a closed loop from the display back to the display.

I think I’m going to scrap the sump for better drains and features and have another built and just wait the 8 weeks…. It sucks but I hate it and I think my build is worthy of a nicer piece.

Played with some closed loop ideas for under the sand. Obviously I’ll need to make a few additional rocks but I’m wondering if that L2 vectra can handle this many outputs at full speed. I could upgrade to a varios 10 which I heard is a monster. And I already have one for my return

Played with closed loop. Cancelled with Posidens for various reasons and acrylic habitats is already building the sump and some qt strip tanks should ship this upcoming week !

I’m interested in hearing how the flow is with all those nozzles. I’m going to attempt a single 1.5” RFG nozzle on each L2 in reefcrest mode to see if it produces enough flow. If I see dead spots I may split the return like you are. My tank is going to be setup as a peninsula so the closed loop returns are on the side away from the overflow (their intakes are on the overflow side to force water to move through the length of the tank). I will supplement the closed loops with Gyres on the overflow side since that side will already have a lot of hardware on it.

My size is similar to your 310g but the length is 96” and the width is 30”. Not a lot of closed loop info with current pumps so I’m definitely interested in hearing your results

I will be trimming it down some and I have valves on all the outputs... I think im going to stick with 2- 3/4" rfg and 1- 1/2" rfg see what happens.
