Glass Cleaner

Just wondering what people have found works best without multiple attempts to clean the outside of the GLASS that has salt stains on it that does not leave streaks

but tbh, i just use a good quality microfiber towel. Easy and its reusable.

also, i've tried 90% water and 10% vinegar in a spray bottle and it works super well. i stopped bc i got annoyed with the vinegary smell lol

Soapy water and a window vac. Especially useful with a boxer dog spraying slobber everywhere.

I just use Invisible Glass, which is a regular glass cleaner, and spray it directly onto a microfiber cloth. Wipe the panes, then buff with the dry side. I know some people might freak out because it's not aquarium safe, but by spraying the towel and not the glass none gets in your aquarium.

If there's lots of drips or salt buildup I'll use rodi and a microfiber first, then the glass cleaner.

Been doing this for over 5 years without issue.

Note: Don't do this for an acrylic tank, in that case get an acrylic safe cleaner, but the process would be the same.

I'm going to be the rebel here...

I just use plain old Windex (white vinegar formula) with a papertowel to clean the front of my glass occasionally. I'm very careful about minimizing overspray and use minimal. If worried about overspray, I guess I could just spray a bunch on papertowel first and wipe the glass. I have not had any ill problems with the tank due to this.

I use either homemade vinegar glass cleaner or the pre packaged lens wipes. The lens wipes work a little better with no streaking.

Fritz glass cleaner. It puts a light wax like polish on that makes my MagFloat glide like fresh polished skis in the snow. It’s beautiful

Car polish! That’s what I use. No streaks and leaves a coating for water to bead off. First I windex with paper towels then wax on wax off with cloth towel! As smooth as a baby’s butt and your magnetic scraper will glide smoothly

I really like this ammonia free foaming stuff. I spray directly on the glass, but try to not get overspray near the top. It seems to leave the outside of the glass pretty slick. Spray on and wipe off with a paper towel.

I've had this can for over 2 years, and I'd say it is still >80% full so it will last for years cleaning my glass once a week or so.

I've tried a few of the aquarium specific cleaners, but found them to leave streaks.

I wipe the outside with a piece of paper towel, which leaves some streaks. Then I go back with a new, dry piece of paper towel and "buff", and that works just fine for me; no streaks. I have used RODI water on occasion, but I find I don't need any more than paper towel, typically.

When I was a kid I was a busboy in a restaurant where we cleaned glass table tops using vinegar and glass cleaner. It worked well, but nearby tables would complain of the smell.

At the restaurants, i hate it when they spray real hard with the sprayer right next to me. I lose my appetite smelling the cleaning solution.

Once, i caught a dude spraying into the towel then use it to clean the table, i almost got up to tip him. lol

I get it, I do! But when you're sixteen and a very grump restaurant owner is holding a large knife and screaming at you to get the table cleaned, you're a lot less worried about the other customers than you might think
