I swapped some corals for a MagFlip a few months ago. The concept is good, but the execution leaves some to be desired. The pad cleaner is a typical run-of-the-mill magnet cleaner, the other side is an actual scraper. Problem is, the scraper blade is plastic and doesn't have the strength to get rid of any of the tenaciouls stuff that grows on my glass. (That's why the OP traded it away).
I thought long and hard about the situation. Well, actually I thought about it a little bit over a long, hard time. The conclusion and solution to the problem involves a razorknife blade, one of the replacable MagFlip scraper blades and a dab of my favorite Cyanoacrylate Gel glue.

I took the scraper blade and flipped it upside down, then glued the knife blade onto it, extending out "just so". Looks like this:

I had to attach it on the "wrong side" of the plastic blade, for clearance, requiring a bit of maneuvering to slide it onto the cleaner. Be very careful at this stage, as the knife blade is quite sharp.

And, it worked like a charm. The tank is the cleanest it's been in months! If you do this, or any other projects involving corrosible metals in your tank be sure to clean the metal parts very well after each use.
Hope somebody might find this thread useful,
Mitch

I dunno, I guess I will address that when the time comes. I could probably pop the old blade off the glue and glue another on.
