What’s the best scraper? I have a flipper but I’m not impressed. It jumps along the glass and leaves algae lines that the blade doesn’t scrape away.

What is the top of the line glass scraper?

I use the double ended flipper, I get what you mean but it does work good. Also allows you to clean into the sand with out worry. My old one was a 20 year old large magfloat.

Of the magnetic scrapers the Flipper is the best at scraping the algae in one pass. The problem is it gas higher risk of scratching the glass (something I learned the hard way).

I switched to the magnetic scraper from Tunze and could not be happier. Scrapes well and zero glass scratches so far on my new display tank after 4 months. My Flipper Max is sitting in my box of spare aquarium equipment.

What one did you end up going with? Is that a metal or plastic blade?

I used to use the double metal blade with the Flipper Max whereas I use the hard plastic scraper with the Tunze. I scrape the glass every day so have zero issues with the hard plastic. You can buy the metal blade for the Tunze if you scrape less often I suppose. My tank glass is still flawless because of the Tunze. I assume it will get small scratches at some point but so far no scratches.

Same frustration here. It's not that it doesn't clean, but the skipping is really annoying and time consuming. You have to go over same areas over and over. There's got to be a way for it to run smooth!! Got to! Right?

I never had that issue with the Flipper Max. I assume the unit you bought is rated with the glass thickness of your tank?

This is exactly what I’m saying!
