Goby before shrimp?

Would like a hifin goby and pistol to pair up in my tank. Rn goby is in stock but not shrimp. I heard you’re supposed to add the shrimp first and let it build a burrow before adding goby. Will it decrease my chances of them pairing up if I add the goby first?

I don't think so but I wouldn't risk it just what till the shrimp is back in stock. it would actually be better if you put them in at the same time.

You can add the shrimp or goby first or at the same time. They will pair up eventually. I have a yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp. No risks to worry about.

Same here. Dropped in a yellow watchman and a tiger pistol shrimp at the same time, they paired that day and have been inseparable ever since.
