Hello all,
I am wondering if you all could share your expert opinions and experiences with the goldentail moral eels. I have kept snowflakes and a zebra moray eel in the past. my 180 gallon tank has many pvc cave systems under the sand as well as a large 4" PVC T coated in sand and rock used as a large eel cave. My zebra just died last week while recovering for over a month from a tank crash where he and the snowflake were the only survivors up until the point he ultimately died.
i want to replace the zebra with a goldentail but my main concerns are its coexistance with the snowflake. Also i understand the goldentail to have a different temperment towards fish than the zebra and snowflake but are they still relatively safe with fish or is it a gamble?

any and all input is appreciated THANKS!

I had a golden tail for a while till committed suicide .. Besides that was great active eating like crazy . It took me a few months to find out the proper feeding schedule . I did lost a few fish because eel attack them at night . When I added a second eel to my tank (black ribbon) that's when eel got imperative and started looking for a way out of the tank. At the time I had perfecto glass canopy with the acrylic flip on the back and both eel some how manage to push it enough to scape the same night.
Currently I have a small ghost eel and new tank covers. Ghost eel very shy not active @ all

Would others mind sharing their experiences?

I have kept 2 golden tail with a banana moray with some tangs and angels in a 210 g tank. There were fine citizens. They feed on raw shrimp and never bother any fish. But they were getting very used to me so getting closer and closer when I put my hands in the tank so biting would be eminent.... I unfortunally sold they to a friend who wants to keep sgressive fish and he still keeping them together with a larga french angel in a 200 gallon tank .

thank you for your feedback rachen.
